  • BugFix – Fixed a bug where the API would crash when there were more than 32 network adapters on the host PC.
  • BugFix – Fixed an error when multiple AEye based devices were connected to the host. When one device would disconnect, it would disconnect all AEye based devices.
  • BugFix – Fixed an error where frames could be dropped on the host side. This was usually only a problem when running faster than 120Hz.
  • Feature – Limited use EyeWake added. This feature is functioning  for specific use cases only. EyeWake allows the computer to go into away mode when commanded, disabling the screen and speakers. This is a lower power mode. This disables the screen and keeps the AEye camera active, so the user can start it again by looking at the predefined activation area.  This area is normally around the AEye camera face.
  • Feature – Added Bottom, Top, Left, and Right calibration margins can be changed independently.
  • Feature – Added mean filtering as an option for the gaze point filtering.
  • Feature – Added read-only settings to query focus distance and lens size at time of manufacture.
  • Feature – Added a setting for controlling the amount of filtering that is done on the output distance value.
  • Feature – Added a setting for controlling whether the eye position data is sourced from the gaze data or from the image data.
  • Feature – Three additional public settings have been added in QLTypes.h to support EyeWake.
  • Improvement – Additional Debug features and settings.
  • Improvement – Cache files are written per device instead of per device type. This also allows for the cache to persist across firmware update.
  • Improvement – Improved performance by using less overhead when importing settings to AEye based devices.

This is our newest eye tracking API, providing version 2.7.3.2, which simplifies integration with our systems and provides additional functionality. This supports the new AEye technology. Please contact us for additional information.

  • Bug Fix – On AEye based devices, the ‘Calibrated’ member of the of the eye data was always false, even when a valid calibration was applied.
  • Bug Fix – Under certain conditions when using AEye based devices and unloading the library, The system could hang for several seconds while trying to clean up threads.
  • Bug Fix – On AEye based devices, when switching eye tracking modes (left eye only, right eye only, or both) and then calibrating and applying the calibration to a device that already had a calibration with a different tracking mode would cause the calibration to become corrupted and result in invalid gaze data.
  • Feature – Added automatic device password caching when a correct device password is entered.

  • Bug Fixes – When getting gaze data from the API without applying a valid calibration first, the Valid member of the QLWeightedGazePoint structure would incorrectly be true
  • Bug Fixes – When the setting QL_SETTING_DEVICE_IMAGE_PROCESSING_EYES_TO_FIND is set to the value QL_DEVICE_EYES_TO_USE_LEFT_OR_RIGHT or QL_DEVICE_EYES_TO_USE_LEFT_AND_RIGHT and a calibration has been applied that only has calibration data for one eye, undefined gaze output can occur for both eyes and the weighted gaze point.
  • Feature – Added support for AEye devices
  • Feature – Added scale factor to QLFrame Data which indicates the scaling of the returned frame
