Dwell activation involves looking at a target on the screen for a predetermined amount of time (usually around 1.2 seconds) to make a selection. This activation method sometimes results in accidental selections, but it is not very fatiguing for the eyes.
Blink activation requires looking at a target on the screen, then blinking for slightly longer than a natural blink to make a selection. This activation method gives more control in making selections as accidental selections are often not an issue. However, this method of activation can result in eye fatigue for some people.
A switch is an assistive technology device that acts as an accessible control interface for individuals with physical or movement disabilities, allowing them to operate electronic devices like the EyeOn Air by activating a single, large button or sensor with any controllable body movement.
